Wild Fox Sits on Command

So get this. I’m walking with a friend at the Orient Point State Park in New York. After a few minutes we heard a noise behind us, turned around and noticed a wild fox following us. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you are Stephen Spielberg), it was not MEGAN Fox. It was a bit surprising, as over the past 20 years they seem to have been a bit scarce around here – but lately I have been seeing them more and more.

It wasn’t following us like I would imagine a wild fox would normally follow someone. (Well, I guess I don’t even know how that would be..) No – it seemed to be following us like a domesticated dog would follow us.

I said to my friend “I wonder if it sits on command?” and told it to sit and I couldn’t believe what I saw next – it sat. I thought, “…it must just be a coincidence – I can’t believe I just saw a wild fox sit on command” so I turned on my camera, started filming and tried it again – and this is what happened. (NOTE: Its better if you make the video full screen) There are click able pictures below!

I can only imagine this is either the result of hundreds of tourists throwing it the occasional hot dog and teaching it tricks..or a local homeowner has decided to “adopt” it in some way. Or, its just really really smart and it is raising a huge race of super foxes and soon we will be making a movie called “Planet of the Foxes” which actually I think would be a cool B movie and COULD star Megan Fox.
